How Can Functional Medicine Help Me?
How Can Functional Medicine Help Me?
Our Functional medicine practitioners base their approach on the idea that the body is a complex system that works best when all parts are healthy. Therefore, it focuses on treating the “whole you” rather than just focusing on individual symptoms. This holistic approach looks at how lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, stress management, sleep habits, and environmental exposures impact overall health.
Functional medicine is a medical system based on the premise that disease begins when our bodies become dysfunctional. This dysfunction may be caused by environmental factors, lifestyle choices, genetic predispositions, or a combination thereof. Functional medicine aims to identify and treat the underlying causes of disease rather than just treating the symptoms. Our functional medicine practitioners use advanced science-based diagnostics with clinical evidence and interpretation to create a unique plan to help support your body, mind, and spirit to live your best life.

What to Expect During Your Functional Medicine Appointments:
1st Appointment: Functional Medicine Evaluation
For Patients Being Seen by Our Functional Medicine Team for the First Time. We will take a deep dive into your health and medical history. Physical Examination, Lab Testing, and Lifestyle recommendations may be recommended.
2nd Appointment: Functional Medicine Review of Findings
We will review the results of any examination or lab testing performed and discuss a targeted health plan based on your initial results.
Support and Health Coaching
Our Functional Medicine Team will recommend customized support for your unique situation. Some patients take their protocol and run with it; others prefer to go at it one step at a time and benefit from weekly check-ins. Still, others have a question or two along the way. We will support and coach you toward your health goals with the best plan for your style or your need. These appointments are generally scheduled as needed; many are done over the phone or with our telehealth options.
Re-testing
How do you know that your plan is working? We re-test to make sure! Re-testing allows us to have the data to make any changes to your plan as needed and based on sound science-based nutrition. This helps us keep the momentum of progress going. Re-testing may be part of your goals in your targeted health plan and may not be necessary for everyone.
Co-create an ongoing Wellness and Longevity Plan
Some patients come to us feeling great and aim for a long-term plan that helps detect minor problems before they become big ones and one that keeps them feeling their best. These plans are as individualized as the patients we see. They can include an annual check-up or ongoing support – whatever your needs, we will help you develop a plan that is right for you.
TeleHealth Visits Available
By popular request, we have extended our virtual functional medicine clinic hours for those who need extended support, can’t come in for an in-office visit, or are immunocompromised. So, get the care you need when you need it – see more about our telehealth options.
Functional medicine is a holistic approach that focuses on treating the underlying causes of disease rather than just suppressing symptoms
Functional Medicine is based on the idea that imbalances cause dysregulation of our body’s systems, including hormones and neurotransmitters, immunity, digestion, detoxification pathways, and energy production. Functional medicine aims to restore balance to these systems through diet, lifestyle changes, nutritional supplementation, and targeted therapies.
