Dr. Todd C. Renn, D.C.
The choice to become a physician is one that can be made for many reasons. For most, it hails from a simple desire to help people, for others, a curiosity as to what makes the human body function. However, for a few, it develops out of true passion, and empathy for suffering and a need to alleviate pain. Dr. Todd Renn is among that minority.
Dr. Renn opened his practice, Ravenswood Chiropractic & Wellness Center, in 2003 with a specific mission to be a leader in providing care to heal, and empower his patients to create healthier lives. The Center not only aims for the highest standard of treatment but an even higher level of compassion for its patients. Beyond the multitude of treatments, he and his staff offer, including Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Orthotics, Physical Therapy and Nutrition Planning, Ravenswood Chiropractic prides itself on a reputation for honesty, transparency, listening to its patients and tailoring plans for individual needs. Dr. Renn’s dedication stems from watching his mother live through debilitating headaches and back pain at a young age, and watching her transformation as she received chiropractic care. Applying that empathy to his practice, Dr. Renn strives to treat all his patients as if they were his family, truly understanding and appreciating how beneficial proper care can influence, not only the patient but their loved ones as well.
With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Renn earned a B.S. in Honors Kinesiology with a focus in Biomechanics and Ergonomics from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and received his second B.S. in Human Biology from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois, as well as completing his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the same institution. After his formal education, Dr. Renn transitioned into a faculty position at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Chicago Campus, even helping to develop the curriculum for both the Orthopedic and Neurologic Exam classes. Continuing a desire to widen his outreach, Dr. Renn became an Allied Healthcare Practitioner at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Neurologic and Orthopedic Hospital in Chicago in 2007 and currently holds that position with Swedish Covenant Hospital. Dr. Renn has obtained a level 1 certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Webster Technique Certification, as well as maintaining memberships in the Ataxia Foundation, The Illinois Chiropractic Society, and the American Chiropractic Association. Understanding that constant personal growth is essential, Dr. Renn upholds a belief in ongoing education to absorb and evaluate the ever-changing technology and research in the chiropractic field, applying the latest techniques to his treatment regiments.
Medicine has truly never been the goal, but a means to attain it for Dr. Renn. His search for real solutions comes from his experience and knowledge that pain is primarily a symptom of the true problem, and discovering that underlying issue is what leads to recovery. His devotion to his patients and commitment to helping them mend and improve their quality of life is a paramount principle at Ravenswood Chiropractic and is engrained into its culture.
Lucky to have met his loving wife in Chicago, together they raise two wonderful daughters in the windy city, where Dr. Renn has made his home for nearly two decades, appreciating the culture, art, and sports, but most importantly, the people. Keeping active in his community, outside his practice, Dr. Renn sponsors his Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club, where he has also been a volunteer girls soccer coach and program committee member. He has also served as a Board Member for the NorthCenter Chamber of Commerce. Beyond that, he frequently provides presentations at the clinic and for community organizations, upon request, for a variety of health topics including, Everyday Ergonomics, Family Nutrition, Nutrition for Athletes, Chicago Cycling Essentials, and Natural Maternity Care options for Expectant Parents, as well as Prenatal and Postpartum Care.
Considering Chicago his true home, Dr. Renn endeavors every day to help those people who’ve been so welcoming and generous, looking forward to meeting new patients and forwarding his friendship and treatment with those that have been with him for years.
